STUDY TOURS
During the event (except for Sunday) a number of buses will leave daily from the main entrance of the exhibition hall to visit a range of live bioenergy systems. The study tours are divided by themes, choose your bus on the basis of your thematic focus,
click here to book. Each visit will start from the meeting point outside of the main entrance to Veronafiere leaving at 08h00 and returning to Veronafiere by 18h30. The cost of each study tour is 50 Euro + VAT, this price covers the whole tour (site visits, lunch, transport and documentation pack).

o Cereal Docks : a biodiesel production plant with capacity of 100kt per year, in addition Cereal Docks operates a 5 MW (MAN) cogeneration unit which runs on pure vegetable oil. Cereal Docks is also planning to install a trigeneration system in the near future.
o Proambiente : a 40kWth 30kWel cogen Kuhse unit running on pure vegetable oil, operated by an Agriturismo (country hotel).
o Proambiente/Bracco : a cogeneration plant rated at installed capacity of 150 kW electric and 250 kW thermal running on vegetable pure oil grown and pressed directly from the farm itself. The system is operated by the Corte Bernuzzo Company di Solarolo Rainerio which owns 400 goats for the production of cheese.
o Schmack biogas : a biogas system with installed electric capacity of 845 kW. The plant in Minerbe utilizes both pre-existing and new structures. The plant feedstock includes corn and potato, grown by the farm itself and animal slurry from neighbouring farms. The plant has been in operation since April 2007.
o UTS Italia : the Baita del Latte, a biogas plant with installed electric capacity of 1 063 kW, with Jenbacher cogeneration unit. The daily feedstock input includes 20 m3 bovine slurry and 50 t biomass, including corn and other cereals. The plant was recently inaugurated in December 2007.
o Fermenta / LIPP : The principle activity of the farm Pascotto Rina found in the vicinity of Portogruaro is the production of eggs. At present 150 000 chickens are reared by the farm. The farm also cultivates 200 ha with corn and oats which all go to feed the biogas digester. The daily feedstock, including corn, oats, chicken waste, cow slurry and glycerol, into the biogas digester amounts to 100 cubic m. The CHP used is a Jembacher rated at an inatelled capacity of 1064 kW.
Solid Biomass :
o San Marco Bioenergie Spa : The power plant in Bando has an installed capacity of 20 MW, it is the largest biomass plant in north and central Italy. The biomass used as feedstock originates from a range of sources including dedicated energy crops, crop residues from agroindustrial processes, residues from forestry management practices and greens from urban parks and privates. The company is presently looking into sourcing more of its biomass feedstocks from local sources through SRF.
o Livenza Agricultural Coopertive Society (Coal) : through its own members Coal disposes of 1500 t/year of vine residues which it uses together with solid biomass derived from its own short rotation forestry to produce heat which feeds a district heating system. Learn about the full supply chain from the forest to the combustion and administrative regulatory aspects : the day is divided into an illustration of the comparative species for short rotation coppice, a live demonstration of mechanized harvest of SRF with different species (poplar, robinia, paulownia) with biannual harvest, visit to the boiler, and presentation of the wood supply chain of the Cooperative. The boiler is of 70 kW (thermal) capacity.
o Forestry demonstration : a demonstration illustrating the mechanized harvest of a black pine plantation on the hills of the Mount Baldo ; it will be possible to view the harvest of forestry waste by a tractor which is equipped with a harvesting cum wood chipping system. FREE STUDY TOUR.
o Morandini Agricultural Farm : a live demonstration on harvesting of old fruit trees that have ended their fruit giving cycle, so as to obtain biomass that is exploited for energy purposes. FREE STUDY TOUR.
